My name is Juan Gabriel Rodriguez, founder of Corazón Salvado ("Saved Heart").
Corazón Salvado was born from a journey of faith that began during one of the most difficult seasons of my life—a season marked by chronic physical pain, serious medical challenges, and deep personal trials.
For many years, I have lived with chronic pain, enduring countless treatments, physical therapy sessions, and medications in the hope of improving my quality of life. Since 1999, I have experienced recurring periods of severe pain that have left me bedridden for days, weeks, and sometimes even months. Over time, these episodes became more frequent and debilitating, transforming what was once an occasional struggle into a daily battle.
In 2022, my life changed when my condition reached one of its lowest points, leaving me bedridden for eight months. During that time, I felt deeply isolated—trapped within my own body and disconnected from the world around me. I grieved the loss of my independence and the simple experiences I had once taken for granted.
Being confined to a bed for such a long time was a nightmare. I became dependent on others for even my most basic needs, leaving me overwhelmed by anger, frustration, and helplessness. During the long, sleepless nights spent staring at the ceiling, I began to truly understand the value of life's simplest blessings. The ability to get out of bed, stand, walk to the restroom, or take a shower was no longer something I took for granted—it had become a precious gift from God.
As I lay in bed, watching the sunrise and sunset through my window while time seemed to stand still, I found comfort in writing. When my words were transformed into music, they carried me through the long, difficult nights that followed and continue to sustain me to this very day. That music guided me through the valley of the shadow of death, just as Scripture describes, reminding me that Christ was beside me with every step I took.
In the quiet moments of prayer and meditation, I dreamed of the day when I would finally be with God in heaven—a place where my pain would no longer exist, where the tears that once drenched my pillow would finally cease, and where the burdens I carried so deeply would be replaced by everlasting peace. I imagine God's kingdom as a place of perfect restoration and beauty, where I can dwell in His presence forever and never again be separated from Him.
It was through this season of suffering that God planted a seed in my heart that would bear endless fruit, and that’s how Corazón Salvado (“Saved Heart”) came to be. More than a name, it represents His saving grace, His healing love, and the transformation He brings to every heart surrendered to Him. It is the foundation upon which I hope to share music, creativity, and encouragement that point others toward Jesus Christ.
To this very day, my story continues, and I believe that as long as God gives me breath, I will continue to worship, serve, and share the gifts and talents He has graciously entrusted to me. I will use my testimony to bring hope, encouragement, and comfort to those walking through their own seasons of hardship.
There is a prayer I carry in my heart each day:
"Lord, let everything I do be a reflection of You."
These words have become my anchor, guiding my steps and reminding me to walk the narrow path He has placed before me. This prayer shapes the way I approach my work, the music I write, the things I create, and the way I strive to live each day. It reminds me that every opportunity is a chance to honor God and reflect His love to others.
My deepest desire is that if even one person is drawn closer to Christ through the songs He has entrusted me to write, through Corazón Salvado, or through any other creative work He allows me to create, then every moment of pain, every hardship, and every trial will have served a greater purpose.
Thank you for taking the time to read “The Story Behind Corazón Salvado.” It means so much to me to share this journey with you. I hope the words, experiences, and testimony within these pages touch your heart and bring you the same blessing and encouragement that this journey has brought to my life.
Sincerely,
—Juan Gabriel Rodriguez
